Measurement for the Refractivity of Saturated Alcohol Gas

A method for measuring the refractivity of saturated alcohol gas in high precision in closed vessel had been designed. This experimental apparatus used an interference method to observe the variation of interference fringes when the gas pressure changed, combining with the relationship of the number of the changing interference fringes and the refractivity of saturated alcohol gas, then the refractivity of alcohol gas under a certain pressure could be measured. The results showed that this method was accurate in deduce, simple in measurement and method, and reliable. This method could be promoted to measure the refractivity of gas. Especially, it also could be used to measure the liquid level of the liquid-storage tanks.

Study of Process Condition and Kinetics of Hydrodesulfurization of Low-Quality Diesel Oil

he hydrogen desulfurization of four kinds of low-quality diesel oils using HPL-1 as was studied on a smallsized hydrogenation unit. The reaction kinetics and the effects of reaction temperature, reaction pressure, volume space velocity and volumetric hydrogen/oil ratio on desulfurization rate have been investigated. The results showed the optimal hydrodesulfurization condition as follows: reaction temperature 360 , pressure 7.0 MPa, space velocity 1.0h-1, and volumetric hydrogen/oil ratio 800:1. Under this condition, the lowquality diesel desulfurization rate can be reached up to 9657%. Moreover, a 0.5 order kinetic model for lowquality diesel was setabilished based on the factors of pressure, hydrogen/oil ratio and space velocity parameters correction. The results indicate that the experimental values and simulation values are in good coincide for four kinds of low-quality diesel sulfur content.

Study on the Reaction of Aromatic Ketones Removal Benzoyl

It is reported herein a novel debenzoylation of diaryl ketones. The effect of the additives, catalysts, and temperature were studied carefully. The results indicate that the yield of this transformation can reach up to 72% under the standard conditions n(ptoluenesulfonic acid)n (starting material)=1100, n(ethylene glycol)n(starting material) =31, toluene, 80 h under reflux. This reaction provides a new method for the debenzoylation of diaryl ketones.
